Welcome to
Musicum Laude 2026

International voice competition, audition and masterclass
Lux & Nox — Special Christmas Edition, Musicum Laude

Light and darkness. December twenty-first marks the winter solstice—the shortest day, when light returns to the world.

On this night, voices emerge from the darkness: the gala brings light and darkness together, where the soloists’ voices become light itself.

Musicum Laude 2026

Its jury includes directors of Western opera houses, casting managers, and artist agents, who not only assess the young singers’ performances but also offer real job opportunities to the most talented. Musicum Laude is a place where singers can find their mentor, their theatre, and their manager all at once.

The event connects three countries and three cities: Vienna, Oradea, and Debrecen. The live auditions take place in Vienna and Debrecen, the masterclass is hosted by Oradea, and the final and gala are held at the Csokonai National Theatre in Debrecen. Places in the masterclass are limited.

Oradea is a particularly fitting host: as a university city, it preserves a tradition of bel canto teaching that has trained singers acclaimed on the world’s great opera stages.

Musicum Laude is therefore not merely a competition but a true springboard toward an international career for young singers.
